Artsy Hoodrat is a Digital Media company that highlights creativity amongst inner-city communities with a hyper focus on the youth. Founder, Jhoana Geronimo, birthed Artsy Hoodrat as a love letter to the communities she grew up in. We wanted to celebrate the originality and beauty of urban life; the muse to most, if not all, fashion and forward trends. This was curated as a movement intended to shift perspectives and honor authenticity.
At our core, we provide opportunities for minorities and marginalized groups alike, to advocate for their artistry via design, photography, videography and fashion. Artsy Hoodrat intends to provide mentorship in the arts for those communities who need it the most. Everything about this brand is by design. There’s intentionality with our aesthetic, aiming to reposition the association of ideologies such as ‘the ghetto’ and ‘hood’.
Using inspiration and innovation, Artsy Hoodrat exists to amplify the talent found in urban cities. In efforts to destigmatize these areas and replace it with the overdue recognition, the artists from our communities like Newark, and surrounding areas deserve. Community and culture are embedded within the soul of this company that we intend to push to the forefront of our art. Because we understand that above all, “Where opportunities are not afforded they are created.”

Artsy Hoodrat es una compañia de medios digitales cual enfoque es exaltar la creatividad en las communidades urbanas, con enfoque primordial hacia la juventud. La fundadora Jhoana Geronimo, concibio este projecto como un poema de amor a las comunidades en donde crecio. Queremos celebrar la originalidad y belleza de la vida Urbana. Cual es inspiracion de muchas, si no todos, los estilos populares de la moda actual.
Esto fue diseñado como un movimiento cual intencion era cambiar perspectivas y honrar su autenticidad. Nuestro enfoque es proveer oportunidades para minorias y grupos marginados advocando por su arte via diseño, photogragia, videografia, y moda. Artsy Hoodrat desea proveer mentoria en las artes para aquellas comunidades que esten con necesidad. Todo sobre esta compañia ha sido diseñado con proposito. Hay intencionalidad en nuestra estetica intentando repocisionar la asociacion de ideologias sobre "el ghetto" y "el barrio".
Usando la inspiracion e inovacion, Artsy Hoodrat existe para amplificar el talento hallado en las ciudades Urbana. Con el proposito de desestigmatizar estas areas y remplazarlas con reconocimiento tardio que artistas de ciudades como Newark y otras vecinas, se merecen. Por lo tanto, pretendemos empujar nuestra creatividad hacia delante porque valoramos su importancia. Artsy Hoodrat es un lugar donde oportunidades no son proporcionadas, son creadas.
